I have never seen anyone play the cello as if it were a bass guitar before. Although I can understand why he was ignored when (and moved on from) playing inside the memorial itself, the fact that most people continued to ignore him outside – speaks to the nature of the problem we face in getting people to face up to the unsustainable nature of modern civilisation…
I therefore hope the mostly elderly, wealthy and white people of the Republican Party will get over the shock of being confronted with the reality of their demographically unelectable position; and start to do just that. I also hope that they may yet come to accept that concern for the environment is not based on communist ideology – just high school physics.
Unfortunately, most of those Republicans didn’t listen enough in civics class to even know what communism is. And god knows they never took high school physics!
We’re all in for an education real soon, now that Mother Nature is getting “warmed up” so to speak.
